This one I made for my student association. The British Anthem is also our anthem, of course with other lyrics. Anyway, this is the dance version!

Makes me proud that a Dutch Uni Group has God Save The Queen as their anthem.

My god, Queen Beatrix was still around when I lived in The Netherlands. I feel old because I lived there in 1999-2000.

When I feel nostalgic I play Edward Elgars Nimrod. Always draws a tear.

tbh trixie was around almost as long the queen she just retired whilst she still has some life in her :)

No. Because yes it’s my national anthem.

It’s the tune that caught the imagination of the person wanting to make it into something else.

It’s like when I see someone burning the Union Flag and people say, ‘are you not angry it’s your flag they are burning?’. I reply no, because it’s their flag. They went out with their money to buy that flag, the petrol they use to set it alight and now watching their own money go up in flames.

My national anthem can’t be destroyed nor my flag because it’s a representation of my country, not actually my country.

Though I do feel a source of pride when ever I see the flag flown be it as the Union Flag or a canton on a commonwealth flag or even the canton on the Hawaiian Flag.

The tune of God Save The Queen is the tune of seven countries worldwide and even an American song, Our Country Tis Of Thee (it still makes me laugh when I read Youtube comments of, ‘they did an anthem from Our Country Tis Of Thee’, then get pointed that we used it a couple of hundred years before their song came about).

The Mexican National anthem was written by a Spainard.

I didn’t mean it in the sense that I’d actually be wanting this person to suffer consequences, I wouldn’t because that would violate the principles we (supposedly) stand for. Same with flag burning, sure I personally can’t think of a good reason to do it, but to explicitly ban it is the type of policy that brings people to burn flags in the first place.

I think that its a bit tasteless, nothing else...
